Why Empathic Practice? The reason is simple: to help people like you and me. And, about a year ago, I was the one who needed help.

By August 2018, my unhealthy lifestyle was starting to catch up with me. I was overweight, let’s be honest, I was morbidly obese, depressed, multiple medications poorly controlled my blood pressure, my cholesterol was out of control, and my kidneys were failing. Don’t forget obstructive sleep apnea required me to sleep with a mask strapped to my face at night. Each morning started with a handful of medications, and each evening I “slept” for four or five hours.

If that wasn’t enough, I had a complication following a previous back surgery that caused me constant pain and numbness in my legs. My legs were weak, and my balance was impaired. My physical limitations impacted my ability to work and enjoy even simple things, like walking.

So what changed? I want to tell you that I had a brilliant flash of enlightenment, but that would be a lie. What happened was that I took my granddaughter to the beach, fell in the surf, and couldn’t get up. I must have looked like a beached whale, wallowing in the ocean. After quite a struggle, I was able to crawl out of the water and get on my feet.

What followed was a collaboration with Felipe Munoz to develop a resource for others who wanted to get back on their feet, both literally and figuratively. His leadership has developed an incubator for holistic practitioners of many types.

One year later, after every making possible mistake and misstep possible by my trial and error methods, Empathic Practice has me on the right path. I have lost 100 pounds, stopped most of my medications, tossed the sleep apnea device away, and started a program of exercise and meditation.

Notice that I’m not touting some “revolutionary” diet program or “miracle” drug. It’s the lifestyle and understanding promoted by Empathic Practice that is the secret, but, more importantly, is for you to realize that you are the answer to what ails you. To accomplish your goals, you need to open your head and heart to Empathic Practice’s ideas.

I was an early adopter of the Empathic Practice program. Was I a pioneer or the guinea pig? Who knows, but I do know that the lessons I learned are available to you if you take advantage of the opportunities available at Empathic Practice.

Changing your lifestyle is worth to enjoy the moments that matter.
